Being the eldest member of the team, she grew up in far less liberal era and considers herself to be unwaveringly straight. The very idea of being with a woman sexually just doesn't click in her mind even though she has observed it a number of times between her own teammates. She has an appreciation for the human form, be it male or female, but she has yet to make any connection between her appreciation for a physically fit and attractive woman, and any kind of sexual desire on her part. If subtle advances are or were ever made in her direction, she simply would not have recognized the signs. Her obliviousness may make her come off as cold, but when interacting with someone who makes their intentions obvious, she will more often than not act more appropriately with surprise, confusion, and embarrassment. She is one tough nut to crack, but if approached with someone patient enough and determined enough to woo her, you won't find anyone more loyal.

Personality:
Like her male counterpart, she is highly dedicated to her research and her team, so she will spend much of her down time in the lab without much, if any other kind of human contact. When research and development is on her mind, it is best not to disturb her lest you risk feeling her wrath the next time you are near death and in need of a healing on the battlefield. Yes, if she deems you as a non-vital entity at that moment in battle, she will leave you to suffer through respawn as many times as she finds necessary. When it comes to her work, she is very much like Dietrich in her no nonsense approach, and how she is not afraid to chew out every single member of her team for something as small as avoiding a flu shot. She's a doctor. When it comes to your health, you'd damn well better listen to her because the doctor knows best. Even if she's wrong.

Now, unlike Dietrich, the softer side to Adelheid's personality is a bit easier to see. While she is stern and stubborn to a fault, she does it more out of a motherly instinct to take care of her teammates, and everyone being at least ten years younger than her only adds to that. Especially in regards to the Scout, she sees the little runner as the baby of the team probably more than anyone else, which is why she reprimands and scolds the girl more often than the rest.

She will never reveal this to anyone on her team (or to anyone, period), but she found out back in her late twenties that she was sterile. Adel had wanted to settle down and start a family of her own, so finding out this kind of news was devastating to her and would have had her spiraling into a depression if she had been any less stubborn. So determined was she, that one of her reasons for going into medicine in the first place was actually to find a way for her to have a child someday. However, as the grueling days in med school went by, she realized one night that she was now too old to be a new mother, and still single to boot. Still, the ache of an unfulfilled dream didn't slow her down and she picked up her degree and kept on working until RED came in and swept her off her feet, and straight into the battlefield. As challenging and taxing as the work can be, she's more than happy to be working for RED, and will continue to do so for as long as she's physically able.
